Chad did it! Every year, we unconsciously attempt to beat each others birthdays. We plan each others birthdays and try to do it so elaborately for each other that the other can't beat us at this invisible unwinable game.....yeah, its retarded and a little twisted.

I thought for sure he would be left in the dust after his amazing surprise party, but he proved me wrong!

Thursday was my actual birthday but I had a ton of homework, work work, so it wasn't the ideal "party time" but we still had a blast! Chad had the house decorated by the time I got outta the shower (which is 6am) these days. He wrapped a few presents for me that totally caught me off guard, I was expecting a Broulims grocery bag with tape to cinch it together but he even got CUTE wrapping paper I can use again! That was a gift in and of itself :) He got me EXACTLY what I needed! A pair of cute closed toes summer shoes for school... I had none! An awesome Sunday dress, making it the first unused, brand new, fits-me-perfect dress Ive had since my wedding dress and a lunch date at Costa Vida!

 Not to mention the lovely gifts my mom got me when she was here with Dani, Finally I got to wear my amazing summer dress! Thanks mommy!

 Then, ON  my birthday (which is so rare to have a package on time) My family sent me another gift...a box of balloons. I didn't think too much of it but my husband with his child-like instincts said "Kayla, maybe you need to pop them" I let him start the popping and sure enough, each balloon was full of cash! AWESOME!

Friday was so long because I knew that Saturday was the day that chad had planned something extravagant! I pounded out all my homework for the entire weekend so that I could do anything and everything he had planned for me! As soon as work was over at noon, my dearest gal pal Monika Came over and gave me a list of items to put in a bag after giving me my first clue!

#1 Pack your things. Monika will provide a list of necessities for the day ahead. You have 10 min so hurry that cute bum up!

  And I did, I was so excited, my husband, my best friend, my new shirt, great hair day... the day could have ended right there and I would have been totally satisfied!

#2 Enjoy a wonderful lunch at your favorite neighborhood establishment compliments of Monika. What a good friend you have! Your hint for this is the English translation of the restaurant name. “Costal life”

  Monika treated me to my favorite mel in the whole wide world...Chicken Salad and Costa Vida! After which, i was forced to ask random employees for a clue.


#3 You enjoy things from all different eras but particularly older decorations. Your next hint will lead you to a small world full of cute old things made for All Occasions. You and I took a ride down there last week and just had the time of our lives. You are required to spend the $30 provided in the envelope. Have fun! #4 Your next location is found in Idaho Falls. It’s a place of fashion, food, and weird people! It’s big and has lots of shops to look around and buy things. You’ve got to be careful though, sometimes people get mauled in a place like this on busy days. You are required to spend the $80 provided in the envelope so go crazy! I know it’s not a lot of money but I hope you can get a few things you like. Some suggestions are Rue 21, Down East, and other girly stores. Have fun, missing you already! MUAH!!

  Definitely didn't spend 80 dollars, I'm a horrible shopper, but I did get an amazing blouse from my favorite store that I've never shopped in Boheme, and traded the shoes Chad got my for some very similar ones in a bigger size. Besides that, I just loved looking at everything... malls are crazy :)

#5 Your next adventure is a personal favorite. I nailed this one just because I will benefit from it more than you I think. The hints for this are: I love getting my back tickled in church so this will help with that, can’t wait! You have 10 of them on your hands and this will help make them pretty and longer. ACRYLICS! I love fake nails! I got them for my 8th grade graduation and haven't had them since so it was awesome finally getting them again, no more hours of painting nails and messing them up!

Yes, My husband let me get a massage! FIRST ever massage and it was amazing! Me and Monika struggled to stay quite in the peace and tranquility room.

We stayed overnight at the Le Ritz hotel in Idaho falls, relaxed in the jacuzzi, when to a dollar show, and ate an amazing meal. 

All I have to say is that Im pretty sure this completey makes up for the burnt cookie I got last year :)
