I Love You Arizona

Another great trip to AZ.
Chad and I left as soon as we possibly could on Tuesday and headed to Provo to pick up Breeba. The normally 16 hour drive was only 14 hours and we drove into Snowflake at 1:45am. The next day we went shopping with Grandma and got to see another side of her vocabulary
G=Grandma
K=Kayla
*as we were driving home from the store, a lady is walking across the main road..
G: What do ya think Kayla, should I hit her?
K: haha no grandma, you should probably spare her life
G:  Yeah, she's my sister-in-law
K: WHAT??
G: I made a baby blanket for Stratton and I asked her what she thought of it. She said 'oh, thats an ugly blanket'....she can go to hell.
K: *eruption of laughter
G: *not laughing

I love grandma, she's the best!

We went back to her house and chatted for a few hours, just catching up. Grandma and Grandpa told us probably a dozen stories and each one had to do with them serving in their callings and in their stakes. I love that about them, my Grandma might condemn people over blankets but she's going straight to heaven! I love them.

I was so glad that we got their first because we got to anxiously wait for every family to arrive! My family came in first! then the Mulders, Bowinkles then Gardners. So sad that we couldn't have the Jones there but it was so good to see even just a portion of the family.

As soon as everyone arrived we got our 'Hatch" on. Card games! I LOVED IT! Nothing like a cold soda, a hand full of 'deuce of clubs' and a group of hilarious players to define a Hatch gathering. We played games until the early hours of the morning and that's exactly the way it should be!

Thanksgiving morning was great! Chad made his famous Biscuits and Gravy and we went right from breakfast to preparing thanksgiving. Mom made some fancy asparagus wraps and Randa made this amazing green bean casserole. Grandpa left early in the morning to put the Turkeys in the ground and Mom and the girls stared on the mini cherry cheesecakes. Naturally, the men were outside playing football at the park down the street with the kids.

kristal and I (the fit ones.... :} ) went on a "3 mile run"...which is code for 'we walked to sonic and back' so that we could justify eating a ton of turkey! Thanks Krissy!

Look at those cuties! What a gorgeous family!
Trace gave us a hard time for ordering him around....as good a cook as you are Tracy, if your in the Kitchen, your taking orders from the women! ;)
Pearce, looking for a bum to spank...that's his favorite
Look at all that green, you'd think we were healthy or something!
Don't show Dani!
Amoungst the craziness of the day, Stratton found a diet coke that made his day!
Around 4 we all sat down and ate together. I couldn't help but feel completely where I was meant to be. I love having a family that loves me and makes me feel like the person the Lord wants me to be. They see past all the flaws I see in myself and assume the very best from me. I love being around people that lift me up!

We were all stuffed, tired and happy. I think all of the adults took a good two hour nap from 4:30-6:30...what the children did during these two hours, we may never know. Paula went around putting the 'Paper Jamie" on unsuspecting couples, Chad and I included, while we were sleeping. Yes Jamie, you can be a state away and still cudduw wif yow cusin!

I missed black friday again but these girls made sure I had my lap top out looking for deals with them... Breea, you look like a muppet.
As soon as we were up it was back to the card table. Grandpa is the card master....every time I played with him he beat my booty! I gave him a pretty hard time, so much that he ended up giving in to me and showing some mercy...what a good Grandpa! And its not a Hatch gathering without some deep political conversation. Sometimes I wish I could just ask my grandpa questions all day long, he is so full of knowledge and passion for our country. I hope someday I will understand the constitution as much as my grandpa does.

Sweet Bibby posing for me..i could eat her.
When we woke up the next day to another classic Hatch tradition...watching really old movies together while breakfast is being made. We missed out on a little of it because we had to go take family picture (because it wouldn't be a Hatch gathering without using Kristal's photographic talents). Heres one of my favorites...

We got all packed up and ready to head down to the valley when I asked if we could play one more game...we did....it lasted another hour and a half. I love that.

Breea, Chad and I piled in the Jetta for another 3 hours of driving down to the Valley I call Home.

As soon as we got to the Valley we changed into our Sunday clothes raced off to the temple. We were so blessed to have the oppotunity to go to my cousin Collins endowment session. I haven't seen Aunt Karen and Uncle Ross and thier kids in well over four years. And to see them all in white as a whole family for the first time was so amazing. My sweet Grandma Guttery only went through the temple for the first time 2 years ago so going through any session with her is a unique and wonderful experience. With all respect to the sacred nature of the temple, I want to record a sweet experience between my Grandmother and I. In the temple there is so much to learn and it takes a life time to understand the symbols and promises made in the temple. As we all met in the celestial room my sweet grandma took my face and whispered in my ear "Kayla I still have so much to learn" It was such a humbling experience. So do I Grandma! I'm Glad our family can learn and grow together in a very eternal way.

The next day was the Guttery Mexican food Thanksgiving. Its simple...we're grateful for Mexican food so that's what we eat on the day of thanks. Erika Ivy and Zack were there, and so were Griffin and Morgan! I haven't seen them in years either! I love when we all get together. Dad and Brennon were the winning team in  the annual horse shoe competition ( i think the teams were rigged). We took lots of pictures and had our "practically family" stop by too.
Erica setting up the brackets for the horse shoe tournament!

 My Beautiful Grandparents
Haven't seen these faces in a while! Zac and Erica and sweet baby Ivy and griffin and Morgan!
The WHOLE family :)
 Our "Other" Family :)

First time meeting baby Royce! LOVE him! We missed Rachel!

My favorite couple... being really creepy.

Chad Hatch brought out his  new unicycle and we all took turns riding it! What a Guttery quirk!

My dads cooler than yours!

Danica, Breea, McKenna and I took a brief shopping spree at forever 21 then raced back home to get ready for Breeas birthday night! We went off to NCA...i don't know what that stands for but its a clean comedy club. It was awesome!!! Breea got called up on stage to act out Rapunzel in a Disneyland ride...she did great! It was such a blast!

The trip was too short but it was a blast! I love my family so much! they make me so excited for Chad and I to have a family. I just want to have the same love, safety and belonging in my own family as I do in the Guttery family!
