Liam-my-boy

I haven't written a post lately that's JUST about Liam. I mean, most of my post are about him in a round about way but after this week, i just need to write about my little man and nothing else.

Liam is becoming a real toddler. We took him in to the doctor last week and they weighed and measured him, he's 23lbs and 30.5 inches which makes him tall and thin for his age. Hilarious, we call him short and stout. The past few weeks have been really rough on our little guy. moving into our new house was exciting but it came with a lot of adjusting. Allergies affected us all but mainly Liam and I. He had a runny nose and water eyes for a week and his eczema flared up worst than ever. between the allergies, eczema, and staff infection, he also started cutting his molars. All four of them.
He was not a happy camper...for weeks!
I've never seen so many fits, it felt like he was crying all day long and i had to constantly remind myself that he was in pain. It was so sad to see him gnawing on his thumb and scratching his legs.
This week, things have turned around. He's gotten used to the allergins around here, his eczema is under control and the infection is all but gone. The molars haven't popped through all the way but he isn't in as much pain. He's happy again! I feel like i finally got my son back! The son who comes up and randomly hugs and kisses me, Who sits quietly through scriptures and points the the picture of the Liahona with excitement and says "Ball!". The little man who runs through irrigation and intentionally wipes out just so he can lay on his belly in the water. He's back and oh how i missed him.

Liam is almost 17 months and runs around like he's four. mainly because he LOVES his cousin Stratton. In fact, when he was really fussing last week I used "Do you want to see Stratton?" to calm him down, He would stop crying and get so excited. Whenever they see each other they give each other a huge hug and kisses.
I've been making little notes in my phone of Liams little accomplishments and fun "firsts" so here are a few from the past few months

He is saying so many new words:
Apples
Milk
Avocado (pronouce "abado") his favorite snack
Amen (this is a big accomplishment becuase for a while, he would just yell 'yay!' at the end of each prayer)
Bumpa (grandpa)
Tessa (his awesome Aunt)
Applesauce
Shoes
Cheese (not the food, the smile prompt)

On May 3rd he folded his arms all on his own when we said it was time for prayers..i might have cried. Its so sweet watching him learn these habits. He knows that before bedtime, we will always read scriptures and say prayers together and that when we wake up we'll say prayers and sing a primary song (popcorn popping is his favorite). He loves the childrens Book of Mormon we got him, Its the only book with a lot of words that he'll sit quietly and listen to.

Liam is such a ray of sunshine in my life. Even through his grouchy sick days, i just wanted to snuggle and love on him all day long. He's getting so big and i just wish he'd stop growing so fast.
