So yeah, we're pregnant! And completely thrilled about it. This pregnancy has already been so different than our first, but just as exciting. With Liam, it took a lot of patience, tracking and time to get pregnant (over a year), and this time around, we were so blessed to have gotten pregnant so quickly! Not only did we get pregnant quickly but I was able to track our due date down to a T and after visiting the doctor, I was right on track. Baby is 11 weeks and very healthy. Due April 28th 2016! I'm so happy for an April baby, its a birthday filled month for our family but I LOVE shared birthdays and I not-so-secretly hope that I get to share my birthday with this little one...mainly so he/she will come a little early and not a week late and by force like Liam.
Chad was so happy, as expected but Liam surprised me with his understanding of what was happening. He spontaneously kisses my belly and says "baby in de mama bewy" Which was problematic before we told everyone we were expecting but now its adorable.
Surprisingly not sick! It's a miracle! With Liam, I was sick from week 6 to week 16 and nauseous 24/7, but this time around I'm just really tired all the time, I can work through exhaustion though so I'm grateful. I've had some serious heartburn but I'm honestly just so grateful to not be throwing up, especially since I'm training for my new job pretty extensively.
It was so fun telling our families! Breea was there with her camera ready and without me even asking, she made this perfect video capturing most everyones reactions. We're missing a few peoples but everyone was wonderful and excited for us.

My next appointment's in a couple weeks, just to go over blood work. My experience with doctors is already totally different then before. I miss Seasons Medical so much, Dr. Codd, Meredith and Colter were so good to me. I was so taken care of and had THE best experience with them so its hard going to someone else. Can't I just go back to Rexburg to have this next baby? (Don't laugh, I'm so serious). Things will get better I'm sure.
We talk about the baby with Liam a lot and he's established a pretty good understanding of the difference between a boy baby and a girl baby, mainly because we have worked with him on being softer with his cousin Millie, because she's younger and we need to treat girls nicely. Every time we ask him "are we going to have a girl baby or a boy baby?" he always says girl! Even when we don't give him that option. Does he know something we don't know?
People always ask, do you want a boy or a girl. Weird questions but a baby is what we want. We know we love boys so another would be a dream come true, and a girl would be an exciting and new experience for us. Just like our first pregnancy, we have no gender preference, just a healthy happy baby....that will take more kindly to breastfeeding than Liam, that's my one preference ;) I wish I could talk Chad into not finding out the gender, maybe after we have a boy and a girl and know that we have everything we need for both but this time around, there was no discussing it, Chad HAS to know. We're just so excited about this new experience and having Liam here to witness it all.
We'll keep you updated as the little one develops.
Listen. The Merrells are due for a girl. I know Gail is with me on this! Can't wait till you find out!!!!
