Temple Lights

It's changed so much! Last time I was able to go to the Mesa Temple lights was in 2010 and so much has changed since then, its amazing still of course but I remember a lot more nativities on the grass areas. This year it was set up more as a story, you'd go to the Prophet Isaiah, prophesying of the Saviors birth, then to the shepherds, then to the wise men and finally to the stable with the Nativity presentation. It was beautiful and Liam loved all the lights. We've been working on color identification with little man so he loved tell me how green everything was. (that's the only color he likes I guess). I only had to chase after him in the nativity display once, he wanted to kiss the baby Jesus.

Dani, Brennon and thier cute kiddos came and as soon as they got there, Liam and Stratton held hands the entire evening and wouldn't let go! I loved it! Unfortunately I felt the need to practice with my night time lense and got very few pictures that I'm crazy about, needless to say, i need more practice and maybe not when I really want good pictures like at the temple lights. We'll be going back with my 50mm to get some good ones, plus, Liam asks to go every night.

My favorite part was the nativity room with all the different nativities from around the world! I LOVED this picture that is more doctrinally correct. It's a fun perspective to think about at this time of year.

Liam especially moved the trees and was on dads shoulders to get a closer look whenever Stratton would take a break from dragging him around like a rag doll. Millie was a doll as always a looked all cozy in her little beanie but getting a picture of the three of them was beyond difficult. We'll be back Temple lights, we'll be back!

We got back home and talked about the lights all night! He didn't want it to end so he laid under the Christmas tree and stared at the lights for another hour, but he calls them "tiny flashlights". I cant wait to take him to our ward activity and watch the concept of the nativity stick in his little mind more. He loves talking about "Mama Mawee and Dada Josep" and of course baby Jesus but I'm excited for him to understand our relationship with the shepherds and the wise men and how we have gifts for the Savior too!
