IDAHO
So heres the story . . .
Christmas was amazing and as soon as it was over it was packin time. All of Tuesday and i mean ALL of Tuesday, i was home, packing, sorting, tossing cleaning, taping, and labeling EVERYTHING in our cute little house. In the process i came to the conclusion that one, we have way too much crap that we only see when we move, and two, Chad has literlly (with no exaggeration) 3 times more clothes and shoes than me. I worked from 7 in the morning to 11 at night and got about a third of the house packed . . talk about disappointing.
So the next day Chad decided to take a sick day and help me pack the rest ( why he didnt use his other 6 sick days instead of working til the day we left is beyond me) the next day chad and I found out the regardless of the fact that we were leaving on sunday we needed to be out of the house on Thursday. . . no big, we would stay a gails and move everything over there with dads trailer til we got the uhaul then repack it on saturday night. but then the rains came and we were forced to move everything to the shed (where the landlord wouldnt inspect) til we could move it the next day without getting damaged. blah. so in 34 degrees we moved everything to the shed and fell asleep on the floor around one.
the next day my dear sweet motha came with her cleanin face on and helped us get all the mud that we tracked in from the night before out before the landlord came and took pictures, we finished just in time and got everything on the trailer to take half to my moms and half to gails. needless to say another very long day.
the NEXT day, we woke up at 5 to prepare for our last minute garage sale in an attempt to make some extra money and get rid of our things that wouldnt fit in the trailer. the garage sale was a total sucess minus the two fake 20 some jerks . . .excuse me . . children of God gave us. which we tore up out of guilt for even thinking of trying to spend them.
THE NEXT day,we loaded everything and frankly we were totally ready to get on the road because school started two days after we would get there, and to our dismay there was some miscommunications between Chad and Preston and Sam and I on our departure date and . . . to make a long story short they were unable to leave until Monday and we were unaware of that until about 12 hours before we were leaving. double blah. The reason remains a mystery to me still to this today.
So... the next day ( thats Sunday, stay with me) We did nothing, and nothing was never so frustrating, we just went to church and ate and . . .nothing! I was SO nervous about moving and getting books and getting schools stuff ready and getting familiar with Rexburg in the 1 day that we were up there! But it was nice to have a good nights rest before the trip! that night my dad gave Chad and I a blessing that completly put us at ease. I love my family. We said our goodbyes and in the morning we were off! As we pulled out of the drive, it was still dark but I gave my mom and dad a big squeeze and said goodbye, I waved to my dad the entire way out of the drive and down the road through the rear view mirror. Massive alligator tears streaming down my face as I tried to cover up just how horrible sad I was to be leaving my Dad. I'll never forget that morning.
The trip was wonderful and thats saying a lot considering it was such a long trip! I loved driving though watching what seemed to me like the season changing in a day! We were lucky enough to have Aunt Nitas hospitality, she offered us a place to stay so we wouldn't have to drive the 17 hours all in one day. She made us a wonderful dinner and we stayed up late laughing our guts out remenising about Chads younger years that he spent in nitas home and an incident with a cat that i dont fully understand because every time i tried asking him or about it he would laugh until he cried which in return made nita laugh uncontrolably. . . i laugh because i felt left out. :) It was a great night and I was a happy girl because i got a nice long hot shower and they had my favorite shampoo and conditioner . . . its the simple things in life ok?!
The next morning we were on the road by 5:30 and more excited than ever to see our new home! Three hours later we pulled into The Village Apartment complex and when i say we pulled in, i really me we slide in, the streets were'nt well kept and there was snow everywhere! I was in heaven. The apartment is AWESOME, its everything we could have asked for. Just close enough to campus that we can get there in only a few minutes and just far enough away that we can seperate school from life a little. We are on the 2nd floor which i LOVE! We get the heat from above and below us and our apartment is so spacious and has a great view... of all the snow. The trip was amazing! I was totally dreading it but with our families prayers we were able to have an enjoyable trip that flew by! stay tuned for more post on our idaho adventures! Next stop BYU!
