-She's Christ like: I see her and I see someone who looks past mistakes, flaws and insecurities and see everyone for their potential and their good works. She is kind to everyone she meets and wants everyone to feel the love of Christ. She's selfless, which is not an easily attained trait but she did it. She's always sacrificing for the wellbeing of those around her without even thinking twice about it. She's forgiving (which I am personally grateful for), she's spiritually anchored and she's a great example.
-She's HILARIOUS! All her friends will back me up on this. From singing loudly and cheering high school fight songs in the kitchen to sharing funny stories, she's always a crack up. It's her personality that's so contagious and fun loving, she can relate to anyone and make just about everyone laugh and feel at ease. (A trait I hope to develop some day)
-She is amazing at what she does! Mom, Wife, Grandma, sister, aunt, auctioneer, fruit saleswoman, carpooler, tennis player, jewelry repairer, visiting teacher, friend and all her other titles. She's amazing at them all! Her time management skills are unparallelled and she's taught me that you really can do anything you want to with the right amount of discipline and effort.
-She's not perfect! I know, this sounds funny but I LOVE that she owns up to her imperfections (as few as she has). I don't know of too many other things she could have taught me that are more important than that. She's teachable and to have a mom that's willing to apologize, learn something new and learn from mistakes only taught me to not fear failure but embrace my imperfections and allow the Lord to make me whole, as she has always done.
- Mom's a peacemaker. I can still remember (and will never forget) her singing "There is beauty all around, when there's love at home!", nice and loud if ever an argument between my sisters and I would begin. She knows the importance of having a peaceful home and genuinely wants everyone to "just get along!" Watching her and her sisters is perhaps one of the greatest motivations I have to be a better sister, I want what she's created with her sisters! Peace and eternal friendship!
(She's the hottie on the right!)
My mom is many things but today, she's the birthday girl! And I love her!
Have fun in HAWAII!
