Wrong.
I don't, my hands are pretty much always swollen, especially in the morning and evenings, after I work out, when I cooking, after I shower and when working out...so yeah, i'm always swollen.
So this Sunday I decided it was coming off, even if my finger came off with it. I started the process by elevating my hand above my head for about 20 minutes with a ice pack wrapped around it. I then sprayed my fingers with Windex and had at it. I tried twisting and pulling and everything in between but it made my finger swell and turn purple. I kept trying until finally I whipped out the big guns, "Chad, give me the butter spread" he brought over the 70 something percent vegetable oil butter "spread" (that really shouldn't be consumed anyways) and lathered up my finger. He twisted and pulled and twisted some more. I was really starting to feel it. My finger was bright red and felt like it was on fire. after a few whimpering moans I screamed " Chad just pull"
Chad looked at me with a face that I've never seen him make, like he was scared of me...i have a feeling I'll see that face again in 18 weeks or so :)
With a little hesitation, he pulled with all his might. I hurt like no ones business but "pop", it came right off with an audible pop.
I was so relieved my finger was alright and in one piece because honestly, it could have gone either way. My finger was bruised and swollen for a few days but now it just looks funny, like there is still a ring on it. (I don't think I've taken off my ring in 2 years or so). The skin where my ring used to rest is all white, and leathery, like its been worn down or something, it's kinda awesome! I'm just glad we got it off.
Other than that, week 22 was great!
Gail, Ray and three of my new nieces and nephew came down up to Rexburg to visit! It was a very last minute visit, at first it totally caught me off guard but I'm so glad I got to know my new family a little better. Those kids...little angels, seriously! I'm so excited for William to have such amazing cousins and aunts and Uncles (not like he didn't already have that going for him but the more the merrier!)
We started our Saturday with a ton of garage selling! It was a blast, I've been doing it all wrong, i normally stop after three or four stops but with Gail! She made us hit every single one! Which was 9 sales in a about 2 hours. And I'm glad she did, we got some awesome steals. Chad and I were thrilled to find a baby high chair, very vintage for $10! Its amazing and I cant wait to refurbish it! We got some great baby clothes and a new (maternity friendly) temple dress. All great finds! We weren't the only ones! Sam and Preston found some great baby cloths as well, Sam got a cool clock and some baby bedding, Grandma and Grandpa Daniel bought some toys for the lake later that day and the grandkids...yeah, they got whatever they wanted! Which included high heels and purses for the girls, sports equipment for Braxton and moon shoes (yes, moon shoes) for all three of them! They loved it!
We went home and got ready for the Lake. the lake was perfect, the weather was great and the kids had a blast! Those kids loved the floating slide and Aaron couldn't be happier about all the thousands of rocks to throw in his endless supply of water. Chad and Preston tried to wrestle each other into the lake (they both ended up in the water and no one won...but don't tell them that). The kids LOVED all the attention from grandma who literally ran out of space on her phone for pictures in one day...amazing.Grandpa was a sport, going down the slide as many times as we needed him to in order for grandma to get a good picture.
After that we went home, showered and made some pizzas together. Braxton is a little chef, he taught me a thing or two about rolling out dough :)
Once we finished dinner we went to the apple orchards on campus to pick some apples and make mini apple pies. We picked bags full and the kids made themselves very useful by climbing into trees and grabbing the best ones. We headed up to the temple for some more pictures... because ya know, we can never take enough picture with Grandma :) It was awesome! We didn't have enough time to make pies but the kids kept us entertained for the rest of the evening, Kierra and Riley knew more songs than I thought possible and they loved singing. They even talked Grandma into singing with them for a few.
The weekend was so great and I just fell in love with Kierra, Riley and Braxton! They are amazing kids and I'm so glad I get to be their Aunt! I'm even more excited for Liam to have such amazing cousins to look up to! Thanks for the pictures Sam!!!
