Liams growing up so fast! I've been dreading this two month mark( not just because of the shots). He's growing up too fast! Chad and I have made a point to really enjoy every little stage he's in, even if it seems inherently unpleasant in nature (like his fussy stages and . We've enjoyed every little smile, every milk drunk stare, ever soft newborn cry and countless other newborn pleasures. Even though we've tried extra hard to live and love Liam in the moment..time is not on our side.
I hate how long he's getting, I can hardly hold him like a baby any more and he's so active (which I love) but it makes it harder to snuggle than even just 2 weeks ago. I wish he'd stay small...stop growing Liam.
While i miss little newborn specialties, I'm loving how much he's changing! This second month has been one of learning for all three of us.
Liams Learned how to...
-Sit in his swing awake without crying ( this was not an easy lesson, it required a lot of weaning)
-Sleep in his big boy crib
-Sing with mom (probably my favorite thing in the whole wide world (video to come)
-Cry louder...joy
-Suck on his hands
-Bath in the sink, he used to hate bathing (we'd have to hold him in the shower or else he'd scream) but now he loves chillin in the sink!
-Dance with dad (country music is his favorite!)
Chad and I have learned...
-Not every cry is a "hungry cry" anymore
-Liam totally runs the show around here now
- Liam loves us...even if he screams his head off when we clean out his nose
-We can never snuggle Liam too much (sorry all your structured parents that think otherwise...judge away)
-We'll never get this time back so we need to enjoy every second...even the sleepless nights and tired days.
-humor is a powerful and wonderful tool of coping
Liams quirks that we LOVE
-When he cries and starts to calm down, he gives us the cutest frowns and whines, like he's protesting something..its adorable.
-Right after he eats, he's so happy, he just coo's and smiles like he doesn't have a care in the world
-When i sing, he stops, stares and smiles with full attention on me, then he joins in with loud wide mouthed coo's. Real mommy/son bonding time=complete bliss
- Liam will sneeze, and if the second sneeze doesn't come, he lets out a darling loud sigh of relief
-when he's really REALLY tired,
he looses all control of his facial expressions and they all happen at
once. Smiles to frowns to straight face to raised eye bows...all at once
Liam has changed a lot! He's stronger, his
legs are a little chunkier and the hair he lost in the first few weeks
is are finally growing back! His smiles are wider and more frequent and
they seem to be a lot more intentional. He's a mover! He loves
squirming, no matter what mood he's in and swaddling is now a thing of
the past. He likes to be stretched out all the time and even his cars eat
seems to feel too restricting to him. He's a free spirit I guess.
wide-eyed cutie
My favorite picture of Chad and Liam...this is really how it is folks. If im ever looking for one of these boys, chances are they are together, smiling, laughing, cooing and snuggling. They're my whole world!
nothing but smiles

Smiling up at mom...my favorite little face
Beautiful eyelashes (that he most certainly got from his dad)
Sweet little features...they never get old
Chad and I constantly talk about how much we love his perfect hands, he's such a little man!
