Girls Trippin

I went on my first girls trip this last weekend...the first of MANY I've decided.

On Friday Liam was in a horrible mood. Being at my moms house has been great but Liam has really struggled with the lack of structure and routine, It's turned him into a very grouchy kid. Its been bad all week but by Friday, I found myself excited to be childless for the weekend, which in turn, made me feel like a horrible mother. I dropped him off with Grandpa before we left and as soon as I got in the car, I cried. I love that little whiner so much! This is the first time I've been without him and I was so nervous, mainly because Chad was nervous. He has never watched Liam for an entire weekend on his own. But I needed a break and Chad needed to be thrown into the refining fire of fatherhood so off we went, the boys to Fathers/Sons Camp out and the girls to Tucson!

The car ride there was probably my favorite part, we laughed really hard, we sand the Newsies Soundtrack and caught up with each other.  I got to remember just how hilarious all my sisters are and how different we all are too. As soon as we got in we checked into our hotel, the Viscount (pronounced vI-cont) that was much less fancy than the people running it. We ordered Oreganos and ate like boys! We got ready to go a headed over to the UofA Auditorium.

Newsies is a Guttery family favorite so having all us sisters (minus Breea) :( together to see it was amazing! We all made a pact not to sing all the songs too loudly in respect to the less loyal and die-hard fans around us. But it was magical, it's definitely different from the movie, they cut out some characters that were sorely missed but the classics like Jack Kelly, Spot Collins, Cruchy and Joseph Pulitzer were better than ever! Danica and I could stop laughing at how different our Davey was...he was protrayed as such a nerd so we could help but laugh after every line he said. Afterwrds we went out the back door and stood by the stage exit like a bunch of gushing teens to get autographs and pictures with the stars! Jack Kelly wished me a happy birthday and signed my bag, dont even worry about it, we're just like best friends and stuff.

We head back to the hotel, and sang songs all night. The later it gets, the loopier and less lady like we became. Kenna got a burst of energy around midnight and danced from bed to bed in a fasion that can only be described a unsettling and Ju Jit Su-y. Danica and I tried to commandeer the nice bed and we took lots of awkward family photos. We all needed sleep.

In the morning we laid out by the pool and played around at the hotel until they kicked us out

Shayna and her friend giggled and took photos of themselves the whole time...and why shouldnt they, they're adorable!

Tessa got the birds and the bees talk and I almost karate chopped a butterfly when Danica freaked out because it landed on my lap. Kristal let m take some action shots and Millie pooped in the Jaccuzzi. Mom and grandma looked like babes laying out by the pool and Kenna and Miriha looked adorable in thier bathing suits. Shayna and Kendra (or Tweedledee and TweedleDum as I like to call them) took some poolside shots and you guessed it, giggled some more.

Once we checked out we headed to Chilies for one last hoorah. We ordered all the Apps we could and got birthday dessert that between the 5 of us at each table was gone in under 1 minute.

It was my first ever girls trip and it will be happening many more times! Thanks sisters and family for making it so memorable!

Side note: Liam and Chad survived. Chad learned that he can in fact watch Liam and not let him drown, run into the fire or get lost in the woods. They had such a good time at Father/Sons and slept so well the next night! Dirt is good for a boys soul.
