Packing has been fun...said no one ever!
I've hated packing things up the past few days. Don't get me wrong, the clean freak in me is LOVEing our clean white walls and clutter-free kitchen but packing is horrible, especially when you're trying to get things done early.
I'd like to get everything packed and ready so that when Chad graduates, that's all we are focusing on and we can spend those few days with family, celebrating Chad. But its so hard packing this far in advance when you still need pans to cook with and medicine and clothes and Liams toys etc. Chad has got this crazy hard FE Exam coming up (its a 6-8 hour comprehensive test that decide whether he can work as an engineer in training or not...kind of a big deal) so I'm trying to take care of Liam, training our replacements, get ready for month end, find a house in AZ and prepare for the move on my own. Chad obviously helps when he can but I know just how much he should be studying so I always send him to the school if he's just sitting around.
Plus, my sweet husband, bless his heart, decided to BUILD our moving trailer. Build it. From scratch. *insert eyeroll emoji
So THATS a project that has "taken up more of my time that I thought it would" (his words, but I think I've said the same thing about that stupid hunk of metal).
We were running around like crazy people. Mainly me.
As I was making my lists of things to pack it hit me that I should really be making a list of things to do in Rexburg before we leave!
-Go to the Teton Vu Drive ins
-Go fishing at the snake river
-Bon fire at Beaver Dick park (don't ask)
-Eat at Big Judds
-Go to Idaho Falls museum one more time
-Take Liam to feed the ducks at the Nature Park.
-Go to the IF green belt
-Visit bishops cabin in Island park
-Canoes at Rigby lake
-Sing at Sammys open mic night
-Go to the civil defense caves and play hide and seek
There are so many other things but I had to stop because it saddens me to think of all the things we cant do in the next 7 days. Chad and I both wish we had more time in this beautiful state. The end of this chapter is coming too soon and we keep getting this feeling that we aren't done traveling yet! AZ is going to be amazing but i can't wait to see what other adventures we have ahead of us. I want to explore. Live on love a little longer. walk new trails and meet new people. I know AZ holds so much growth for me personally, and Chad and Liam as well of course, but I have loved the path we've trod.
We had Liam here
We grew together as a couple here
We got to work together here
We had 5 jobs here
We got our degrees
We were in 2 different wards, with three amaizng bishops that taught us so much!
We served in new and exciting callings that stretched us and strengthened our testimonies
We experienced the 4 seasons together
We've flown Allegiant WAY too many times
We experienced marital struggles and triumphed as one
We had pet ducks
We watched our nephews be born and blossem into thier fun personalities
We celebrated 10 birthdays (between the three of us)
We spent summers at the splash pad
We picked huckleberries
We went to bear world (3 or 4 times)
We played thousands of card games with the Thompsons
We explored Smith, Porter, Park St, St Anthony, Henrys Fork, and Yellowstone parks
We ran a dozen 5ks through the city and school
We had family visit here
We watched Liam reach a handful of milestones in our home.
We developed so many family traditions and habits here
We had 3 Christmases here (all of them, White)
We have loved living in Idaho, leaving seems so sad but I remember when moving to Idaho seemed scary and sad. Thinking about all the things we've done here and the memories we've made, gets me excited for the years to come.
One more week. Lets make it a good one.
