Well...this is embarassing

Remember that one post where I was so optimistic and confident about potty training? Remember how I explained all the things that worked and didn't work...as if anything actually worked? Remember how I was all, "Liam, you're making me look good, you're such a quick learner!". Remember how I was like, "that was a pleasant, positive experience."?

Yeah, NO.

Liams still peeing everywhere and pooping his pants almost on the daily. I'm loosing my mind and I'm seriously questioning the likelihood of my son EVER being able to anticipate a bowel movement. On the bright side, I haven't given up. We're still trying new things and trying to make potty trips a positive thing but it's getting harder and harder not to get frustrated with accidents.

I'm taking it day by day, so today, is a good day. No accidents, he's told me he needed to go twice and I'm just going to be happy about today.
Heaven help me.

In other news

Liam is in a dance class every Tuesday. He loves shaking it with his cousin Millie, which is a relief because they are serious frenemies, one second, hugging and giggling, a second later, scratching and screaming. I'm glad they've both found a positive outlet.

Matix is 3 months...I should do a post devoted to him as I always do ....but I wont, no time. Matix is growing and starting to look a little more proportionate. He's thinning out, only slightly and his eye focus is finally all there, no more cross eyes and lots of focus. He'll smile at us from across the room, as if he wasn't already the happiest baby in the world, now he's happy from a distance too. We got him to giggle last weekend in Taylor and we've been bruising his ribs and collar bone in attempts to catch another priceless baby giggle ( we don't really bruise him, he's fine). He is able to hold his head up much better, hardly any bobble head now, and he loves rolling from his belly to his back, which is very different from our Liam, who LOVED tummy time. Matix used to, but he's over it now.
Matix will drink 5 whopping once every 2-4 hours. Thus the loving nickname, 'fatpat'. He likes to stay up late with mom and dad (against our wishes) and goes to bed around 10, wakes up around 3 and sometimes again at 5:30, at which point i swiftly feed him and make him go back to sleep because I'm a tired mama and like to sleep in til 7 when Liam wakes up doing the potty dance.
We went on our first road trip with out round little man and he slept the.whole.way. It was a miracle. He was perfect, we woke him up 2 1/2 hours into the trip, fed him and changed his diaper, let him stretch for 5 minutes and he was out again for the rest of the trip. When we got there we realized he had a fever and a very stuffed nose. And we believe the teething had begun! He's gnawing on everything and drooling like crazy.
He loves Liam. Liam, while for the most part he's very loving, he's started to get a little rough with him and experimented with what makes him laugh and cry. Matix just smiles whenever he's around, he's very trusting. Matix looks just like Chad. every time he's sitting on Chads lap, just chilling, I want to take a million photos because their resemblance is unreal. Tonight at dinner he made a face that Chad always makes (pursed lips and one raised eyebrow) and i almost cried, it was too unreal! I'm excited to discover what personality traits they share.

That's all for now, I have to get back to scheduling my new voice and guitar students, folding laundry and preparing singing time for next week. Sometimes busy is good, this is one of those times.
